About The Job

Beech Acres Parenting Center is seeking an Events & Stewardship Specialist to develop the Annual Event Plan and execute for success. In addition, the Events and Stewardship Specialist will implement the annual Stewardship Plan, including donor communications (print, email, social media and website) and other engagement activities.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Creating and executing the annual Event Plan that includes a series of events that engage current and prospective donors with our programs and services, inspiring them to contribute.
  • Utilizing creativity and resourcefulness in identifying and implementing annual Donor Engagement and Cultivation Events that spark current and future donors to further engage with and get connected to Beech Acres.
  • Providing support to the Senior Development Officer for securing event sponsorships from corporations, including preparation of collateral materials.
  • For each event:
    • Create and manage the event planning, timeline and successful implementation, including evaluation.
    • Negotiate costs and services with vendors, book event space, arrange food and beverage, program guest speakers, entertainment, décor, and audiovisual required for a successful event.
    • Manage expense budget to ensure completing the events calendar within the allocated budget.
  • Managing the fall Equip a Kid (backpack program), fall Golf Outing and winter Inspire a Family (holiday giving) programs.
    • Working with the Coordinator of Marketing and Development and Volunteer leadership to successfully execute the details of Equip a Kid and Inspire a Family, resulting in a positive engagement of parents and their children in a meaningful volunteer experience.
    • Working with the Annual Fund and Data Specialist to develop strategies to further engage participants at Beech Acres as a donor to our ongoing programs.
  • Working with the Vice President of Development on the creation of the Annual Stewardship Plan and managing the successful execution of the Plan.
    • Manage the successful execution of the Plan.  Specific responsibilities include:
      • Work with the Marketing Team on creative donor engagement opportunities including:
        • Because of You postcards
        • Social Media campaigns
        • Website engagement and updates
        • Other creative strategies as defined
      • Manage the Donor Communications Calendar, including:
        • Coordination of the Annual Report and Insiders Scoop newsletters with the Marketing Team.
        • Oversee the writing of the Donor Acknowledgement letters, ensuring personalized letters to donors for all gifts/pledges received.
        • Work with the Coordinator of Marketing and Development and Volunteer leadership to successfully execute the details of each strategy.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and 3-5+ years of experience managing donor engagement and/or development events.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism.
  • A love for “out of the box” thinking and creativity.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Superior time management skills, multi-tasking abilities, team playing skills.
  • Budget management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to accomplish projects independently.
  • Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
