Job Description

The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, Ohio Province, invite nominations and applications for the position of Director of Development. This position is the chief development officer of the Province. The Sisters seek an experienced development professional who will walk with the Sisters in their mission to spread the goodness of God to the world. They seek a person who is passionate about making the world a better place, with a special emphasis on education, particularly for women and children. Candidates should have experience leading a successful fundraising program, and strong knowledge of the strategies and tactics of constituent relations and marketing. The position will be an important role for the Province, reporting directly to the Provincial Leader and working closely with the Development Advisory Board.

This is an opportunity for an experienced development professional to continue to grow a very successful program and secure the resources to further the regional and international mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur through a strong fundraising and public relations program. The Sisters have their main office in Cincinnati and a satellite office in Chicago.

A bachelor’s degree is required, along with eight or more years of relevant and progressive experience in fundraising, and a working knowledge of public relations and marketing principles and operations. Other skill sets that successful candidates will possess include being an effective communicator who has exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and having excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with proven experience working with donor management software systems and reporting. Knowledge and understanding of Catholic religious communities, along with experience in a faith-based organization is strongly preferred. Proven experience in a capital campaign is also a plus. Frequent travel is required.
