Development Director
Agency Overview: Envision provides a variety of services to support individuals with disabilities and has been a trusted resource for families for over 50 years. Our mission is to support a full and vibrant future for people with disabilities. We serve more than 500 children and adults each year. Our programs serve children and adults and address a range of conditions and disabilities including: physical or cognitive disabilities, syndromes associated with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum, learning disabilities, and co-occurring mental health issues.
Shift: Hours vary; Full time or Part time hours
Pay: Based on experience
Position Overview: The Development Director is part of the agency’s Leadership Team, and works closely with the Board of Trustees. The Development Director is responsible for the creation and execution of a comprehensive development plan to include annual giving, donor acquisition and relationship management, major and planned giving, special events, volunteer management, and capital endowment campaigns. Energy, creativity, and innovative thinking are required to grow this department’s result. Familiarity with Greater Cincinnati’s philanthropic community is preferred. Some evening and weekend hours are expected.
This position requires superb interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and media savvy. The role involves reaching out to the community and drawing the community back in to engage with us. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including public speaking and business writing. Organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize work while handling multiple responsibilities are critical.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree preferred
Strong interpersonal communication skills; business writing and technical skills
Five to seven years of development experience
A valid driver’s license with no more than 5 points on driving record
