Position Summary: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio (BGCCO) is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to serve as a member of the senior leadership team and to direct the fundraising and communications efforts for the organization. We seek a candidate who is passionate about impacting the lives of Central Ohio youth and who has significant fundraising and team leadership experience. The position oversees a staff of four and works closely with the CEO and board to secure the resources needed for mission fulfillment, and to communicate to donors and the broader community about mission impact.

The CAO is responsible for securing gifts, stewarding relationships, designing and implementing strategy, forecasting and managing budgets, communicating case for support and impact messages, grant and contract management, leading the advancement team, and successfully supporting the completion of our Investing in Great Futures comprehensive campaign. This position also works closely with campaign counsel and other contractors to support attainment of goals.

As a member of the senior leadership team, the CAO will be expected work collaboratively, in alignment with organizational values, and in concert with national policies and standards of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Our operating budget for FY20 is $3.8 million and of that, this position is responsible for $1.9 million through philanthropy and $1.5 million through government grants and contracts annually.

Organizational Summary: BGCCO is an affiliate of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Our mission is to empower young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. We do this by providing high-quality and impactful out-of-school programming for youth in grades K-12. Our programs focus on healthy lifestyles, academic success, character, and leadership for all age groups with a dedicated teen program as well. BGCCO serves 4,200 youth per year in three counties throughout Central Ohio with Clubs in Columbus, Marion, and Newark. We are currently operating a Virtual Club Experience with plans to re-open our physical Clubs this summer.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of development experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Raiser’s Edge or other CRM experience required.
  • Experience with youth-service organizations preferred.
