About The Job
Beech Acres Parenting Center is seeking a Senior Development Officer to serve as one of the chief fundraisers for Beech Acres. This role is responsible for a Portfolio of Individual Donors at the major gift level of $1,000 and above, and planning, implementing and managing annual fundraising efforts from Foundations (local, regional and national) and Corporations (local and regional).
Manage a Portfolio of Individual Donors and Prospects as part of the overall Major Gifts Program and execute for success.
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward individual prospects and donors, as assigned by the Vice President of Development
- Develop a tailored strategy (that includes monthly contact) for each prospect/donor and coordinate steps to move them toward readiness to be asked for a meaningful gift (new or increased)
- Maintain an active schedule of personal visits and meaningful connections with donors and prospects
Develop Annual Corporate Plan and execute for success.
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate prospects and donors.
- Develop a tailored strategy for each prospect/donor and coordinate steps to move them toward readiness to be asked for a meaningful gift
- Serve as the chief relationship-manager for Corporate prospects and Corporate donors
- Maintain an active schedule of personal visits and meaningful connections with donors and prospects
Develop Annual Foundation Plan and execute for success.
- Serve as the lead staff liaison with Grants Plus, managing their work to achieve Plan goals
- Work with Beech Acres senior leadership and program staff to secure information and materials required by Grants Plus to develop compelling grant proposals and a clear Case for Support for each funder
- Serve as the chief relationship-manager for Foundation prospects and Foundation funders
- Maintain an active schedule of personal visits and meaningful connections with donors and prospects.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related area and 5+ years of experience in non-profit fundraising. Experience fundraising for a non-profit focused on social services, community health, or related area is preferred.
- High level of comfort in asking individuals, corporations, and foundations for major gifts.
- Track record of success in securing major gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism.
- A love of networking and building relationships. Passionate about cultivating strong partnerships.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-directed, goal oriented and a strong team player.
- Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
