Since 1951, Episcopal Retirement Services (ERS) has worked to improve the lives of thousands of older adults in a person-centered, innovative and spiritually based way through three Continuing Care Retirement Communities, 27 Affordable Living communities for low income seniors, and in-home services including Meals on Wheels and Parish Health Ministry.
The Manager of Corporate Partnerships and Events is a newly created role within our growing Fund Development team!
The primary purpose of this role is to increase revenue streams and expand the ERS donor base through the engagement of corporate partners, individuals, faith-based partners and foundation supporters through meaningful, inspiring and creative events in addition to maintaining our already established, loyal corporate partnerships. This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing one major fundraiser and multiple smaller cultivation and stewardship events annually.
Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the ED of Philanthropy and other staff and volunteers, develops an overall strategic plan for all ERS cultivation, stewardship and fundraising special events for the purpose of expanding the donor base, increasing donor retention and increasing charitable giving revenue to meet or exceed annual and special campaign goals.
- Oversees all aspects of one major annual fundraising event, including meeting sponsorship goals, developing and executing creative and inspiring themes and messaging, assembling and leading an active volunteer committee, coordinating logistics, securing in-kind contributions, managing volunteers and staff, promoting attendance, and researching and negotiating with vendors to meet expense budgets.
- Manages all aspects of ERS partner (vendor) corporate giving. Review all ERS vendors regularly, understand and monitor changes in the depth of their business relationship with ERS and work with staff liaisons to develop and execute a cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategy to strengthen relationships and increase their support of the organization.
- Identifies and secures new corporate sponsorships that do not have existing business ties to ERS by working with board and committee leaders, residents, families, volunteers, current sponsors and building an external network.
- Collaborates with staff and volunteers to foster increased engagement of faith-based partners and churches in the mission of ERS through volunteerism and financial contributions.
- Coordinates the planning of 10+ smaller cultivation and stewardship events throughout the year such as the Living Legacy Society Luncheon, Samaritan Circle Luncheon, Samaritan Circle Cocktail Party, Partners’ Breakfast, Resident GSM Kick-Off and Celebration events, dedication ceremonies, etc.
- Works closely with the Annual Fund and Communications Manager and the ERS Marketing Team to develop creative and inspiring event related themes, collateral materials, programs and presentations.
- Works with the Development Specialist to input and analyze data to monitor and manage donor activities, behaviors and trends to ensure smooth execution of events and increase donor engagement.
- Works with the Development Specialist to invoice, process and acknowledge sponsorships and all event related contributions accurately and promptly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or other related field required.
- Demonstrated success in achieving financial goals and leading major fundraising events, including securing sponsorships and in-kind contributions.
- Minimum of three years’ experience required, five plus years preferred.
- Must be passionate about promoting and addressing the healthcare, residential and quality of life needs of older adults to empower them to live with dignity and purpose.
- Must be an independent, highly accountable and driven self-starter.
- Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to interact with ease with a wide range of demographics.
- Must possess a knowledge of the business and civic community and be able to network and negotiate at the highest level.
- Must be highly creative and innovative in planning events and messaging donors.
- Must possess strong data analysis and communication skills.
- Strong ability to remain calm under stress and be flexible.
- Experience using Raiser’s Edge or other database preferred, or an aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
