Job Description
The Academic Advisory Council for Signage Research and Education (AACSRE) is searching for an Executive Director. The position is part-time (averaging 15 hours per week) and will be located in the greater Cincinnati area. The position will report to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for the daily administration and management of the organization which includes but is not limited to comprehensive resource development, marketing, management of all fiscal resources, supervision and coordination of volunteers, and business operations in accordance with standard nonprofit practices. The ED works with and supports the Board of Directors to define its priorities, build and develop teamwork among Board members and other volunteer leaders, and ensure program and fiscal accountability. Candidates should hold a BA or BS degree with appropriate professional experience in fundraising, non-profit management, marketing and organizational development. Candidates should have experience working within academic communities. Experience and knowledge of signage/wayfinding/research would be significant.
ABOUT AACSRE: The Academic Advisory Council for Signage Research and Education is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization managed by a board comprised of academics from 19 world class research universities plus representatives from the signage and wayfinding industry. The board covers a wide breath of interdisciplinary fields with a focus on law, marketing, engineering, architecture, planning, design, art, advertising, economics and business. Based on its mission and vision, the organization connects three key groups for dialogue and knowledge generation on on-premise signage: academics, practitioners in interdisciplinary fields and the signage/wayfinding industry. The organization is committed to building independent thought leadership for signage research and education through its Emerging Fellows program, Interdisciplinary Journal of Signage and Wayfinding (IJSW) and focus on emerging issues impacting signage.
