Guided by the Strategic Plan, the Greater Cincinnati Community Executive provides leadership and management to the Greater Cincinnati area to achieve strategic plan goals. They will be responsible for empowering staff with the leadership and resources needed to successfully complete their strategic goals and initiatives; increasing overall revenue income strategy and planning and accountable for revenue targets and defined mission delivery with direct focus on programs and media relations. They’ll work in concert with key organizational stakeholders to build momentum across priority activities. Additionally, they will ensure execution of the local Care and Support strategy around volunteer delivery of national programs focused on education, support groups, early stage engagement along with focusing on Media relations to deliver essential concern and awareness strategies.
In concert with the Region Leader, the community executive will support overall strategic targets across all pillars throughout the specified community, Ohio and Region 10 with a shared focus on Public Policy, Research, and Diversity, Health Systems and Grants as part of the Ohio Leadership Team including recruiting, training, enhancing and mobilizing the Community Leadership Board.
- Oversee all community revenue growth efforts, including planning and fundraising strategy and execution. Identify areas for growth, improvement and efficiencies.
- Key focus on Mass Market/Peer-to-peer fundraising events including Walk to End Alzheimers and The Longest Day.
- Care and Support:
- Lead care and support work along with the Director of Programs to expand reach and mobilize volunteers throughout Chapter geography to provide essential education, support group and early stage services..
- Media Relations:
- Work with the communication team to ensure local media relations are built and grown to produce outcomes driving essential concern and awareness through media impressions.
- Accountable to assist with Research, Public Policy, Diversity, Health System and Grant strategic goals for Ohio through role on the Ohio Leadership team.
- Create an annual business plan for revenue growth.
- Oversee annual plans, timelines, staffing structures, performance benchmarks and progress reports to guide activities.
- Grow constituent and relationship events in the Greater Cincinnati community:
- Seek out revenue growth opportunities both in expansion of current activities and identification of new activities. Identify, secure and cultivate new strategic partnerships.
- Acquire, cultivate, engage, recognize and steward high level individuals to participate in the Association’s broad market constituent events.
- Develop corporate engagement in local, regional and national opportunities (in conjunction with Home Office Corporate Partnerships team) for all key areas of strategic growth with a focus on development, program and media relations and in collaboration with health systems team as well.
- Major Donors:
- Lead identification of major prospects ($10,000 plus) through Board members, other volunteer leaders and independent efforts. Work closely with Home Office Region 10 Donor Advisor to cultivate identified prospects.
- Achieve annual revenue goals and manage a departmental budget.
- Make recommendations/decisions for community-wide direction and growth in key areas of the Association’s Strategic Implementation Plan.
- Thought leader for the Greater Cincinnati community.
- Work closely with the Director of Development and Home Office Walk team to recruit, train and lead development staff.
- Working in conjunction with Development and Program Staff, recruit and work with volunteers in committees and in one-to-one situations and regularly throughout the entire year.
- Guide the work of key volunteer leadership including Community Leadership Board. Lead the individual board accountability for the chapter.
- BA or BS degree in business, marketing or related field.
- 8-10 years progressive experience, including proven success in fundraising (or sales, absent direct non-profit experience).
- Minimum 5 years significant supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience successfully closing local, regional or national corporate and strategic partnerships preferred.
- Strong volunteer mobilization skills to achieve outcomes.
- Successful track record of leading staff and volunteers to reaching dollar and participant goals.
- Experience managing large scale budgets.
- High degree of original and independent thinking in conceiving and developing complex methods, procedures, techniques, products or ideas in new and undefined areas.
- Ability to make excellent hires, lead and develop teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including public speaking with the ability to facilitate meetings, and work collaboratively, in a highly matrixed organization structure – with chapter staff, at the Regional and Home Office level, as well as with chapters across the nation.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple ongoing workloads and specific assignments.
- Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly by automobile across the chapter territory, as well as overnight travel up to 15%.
- Must possess valid driver’s license, access to a reliable personal vehicle, good driving record and proof insurance to meet travel requirements.
