Job Description

This position is a highly responsible administrative and resource development support position, reporting to the Divisional Director of Gift Planning. Duties require a high degree of initiative, follow through, and organizational skill; professionalism, customer service, stewardship and fund raising insight in communications with key internal and external constituencies (e.g. corps officers, gift planning donors, prospective gift planning donors, Advisory Board/Council/Committee members, financial advisors, attorneys/paralegals etc.); an ability to act independently in managing and following through with projects as assigned; an ability to understand and consider the implication of various communications as they relate to department-wide fund raising programs and priorities and an integrated development operation; excellent telephone, customer service, and writing skills (including composing sensitive correspondence); prepare timely and accurate gift planning illustrations using gift planning software; assist in coordinating donor- / prospect-focused events & projects; assist in preparing other documents to be submitted to prospects, donors, specific internal/external constituencies for review, etc.; maintain and update relational database (SalesForce) as it relates to gift planning records on a daily basis.

Requirements:

  • Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Crescendo or SalesForce is a plus. Must be highly organized, with demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, data analysis, project management, and information systems management. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, able to relate professionally and effectively with key constituencies (both internally and externally), with an ability to deal well with sensitive situations and confidential information.
  • Must be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the mission of The Salvation Army, ready to support the Army’s mission objectives through the position’s duties.
