Job Description

As a member of the Development Department, you will be responsible for providing database administration including maintenance and upgrades of the database and its constituent records; maintain data integrity by establishing regular system checks and audits; provide database analysis including the production of reports from the database, data extraction, data segmentation and forecasting to build a robust pool of qualified prospects; assist in utilizing multiple sources to research existing constituents and build list of new, highly qualified prospects for individuals, corporations, organizations and foundations; provide oversight of gift processing and its integration with the database; produce all mailing lists for various fundraising purposes; produce constituent thank you, solicitation and other donor communication pieces provided by the Development Director; and work in close collaboration with frontline fundraisers to increase fundraising effectiveness.

In addition, you will be responsible for working across agency departments to coordinate, compile and update programmatic data; organize and conduct stewardship activities with foundations; help with data collection and data entry; and collaborate with program staff to assist with development of Continuous Quality Improvement protocols for all departments. More specifically, you will coordinate internally with staff to assemble program and financial data for grant applications and reports; assist with the generation of data reports for grants; maintain files of proposals, reports, and stewardship materials; maintain the grant office – file grant proposals, applications, research, etc.; assist in the preparation of grant proposals; conduct research and work with staff to gather client, organizational and industry statistics for use in grants; coordinate with and support the Grant Coordinator; conduct grant-related research as assigned; assist in preparing grant reports for Executive Director and Board of Directors as needed; and coordinate with Development staff on mailings to grantors.

The most successful candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree or any combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and a minimum of 1-3 years of work experience with a non-profit organization in fundraising database systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong proofreading and editing skills; expertise experience with Excel and Access; expertise with Raiser’s Edge is a plus; and impeccable attention to detail.

In addition, you must have a valid driver’s license and ability to meet BHS vehicle insurance requirements and be able to complete a criminal background check and drug test.
