PRIMARY REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES: 
· Major Gift solicitation as either a working professional in the field or as a volunteer. 

· Proven oral and written skills. 

· An understanding of Estate/Planned Giving. 

· Capable of singly representing the school. 

· A Bachelors degree is required, a Masters preferred.

SECONDARY, BUT STILL VERY IMPORTANT SKILLS, ABILITIES: 

· Public relations experience. 

· Computer, word processing and spreadsheet experience. 

· Technology aptitude with an openness to learn. 

· Experience in a measurable outcomes atmosphere. 

· A track record of being a self-starter. 

To bring focus to the expectations of the Headmaster and the organization's Board, and thus to attract and retain a suitable candidate, the following tasks/time guideline is offered: 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION 

Individual Tasks (70% of the time) 

· Solicit Major Gifts.
                                                                                                     
· Orchestrate a formal prospect management system.

• Institute, coordinate and maintain a Planned GivingProgram.
  
  Undertake, research and implement Foundation Proposals.

· Initiate and execute print and electronic communications with all major prospects. 


SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES (with the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations) 

· Interacts with all stakeholders of the school community.

• Helps develop and enact an annual, overall development plan for the school.
• Contribute relevant articles to all school publications.
• Professional networking.
• Initiates donor and project correspondence.
• Develops fundraisingmaterials.

COMPENSATION AND EXPECTATIONS 

This is a senior level position requiring significant experience. The salary will be very competitive with those in similar positions in the Cincinnati philanthropic market.
