Planned Giving on the Run Completes Third Successful Year

Published March 31, 2009 by Susan Kulick

Planned Giving on the Run is a comprehensive, yet straightforward, educational opportunity for non-profit professionals in the greater Cincinnati community. Fifteen "students" completed an eight month long course designed to help them add planned giving to their organization's fundraising capacity. The course was supported with a grant from Bartlett and Company and the Greater Cincinnati Foundation graciously hosted the classes.

Planned Giving on the Run is designed for the busy professional who needs a planned giving program but does not have the time, staff or budget to start a traditional one from scratch. All the nuts and bolts needed to start a planned giving program were covered at the sessions each month. At each class, participants were encouraged to ask the three facilitators, Andrea Herzig, Jeffrey Stec, and Susan Kulick about issues affecting their own organizations. As an additional resource this year, every participant was matched with an experienced planned giving mentor so that specific questions could be explored in even greater detail if desired.

Planned Giving on the Run officially ends on April 21st with a "Graduation" reception to be held at the Greater Cincinnati Foundation from 5 - 6:30 pm for the course participants. Soon, planning will occur to make Planned Giving on the Run even better next year. If you would like to help with this effort, please contact Susan Kulick at susan.kulick@cchmc.org.
