Dear Colleagues,

Gift Planners face special challenges in these difficult and confusing economic times.  Meeting these challenges means being creative and staying energized.  GCPGC is your gateway to success for your organizations and your donors.

On April 21, 2009, the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council (GCPGC) will present a completely unique half-day seminar.  Held from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the Mayerson JCC, "1001 Fund Raising Tales" is an interactive program with actor, director and screenwriter, Terrence McNally.

This seminar is ideal for fundraisers, executive directors, board members or exceptional volunteers. Use this seminar as a way to keep your key players engaged.

  • Terrence McNally offers non-stop one-on-one coaching teaches the elements of a good story.
  • Learn how the uniquely powerful tool of storytelling can deeply motivate your audiences and help advance your cause.
  • Learn the elements of a good story
  • Learn how to build a storytelling culture within your organization.
  • Develop your ability to tell the compelling human stories that bring data, ideas, and policies to life.

The event is limited to 100 people because of the hands-on approach Mr. McNally uses.

Stewardship is so important in fundraising, but especially in Planned Giving.  Recognizing and honoring your donors can be expensive however.  Again, it's GCPGC to the rescue.  Our annual Voices of Giving program will be June 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at CET.  April 15, 2009 is the deadline to nominate your organization's honoree.  Each honoree is recognized for his or her planned gift at the completely free event. Voices of Giving is a great way to recognize your donors, entertain them at the beautiful reception and enjoy lots of free publicity for your organization.

GCPGC is affiliated with the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning.  PPP was formerly called the National Committee for Planned Giving (NCPG).  The name change brings lots of new information and assistance for gift planners.  Ethics, advocacy, marketing and the latest statistics about donors and donations are all available through the Partnership.  Check out www.pppnet.org for great resources.
