Purpose and Expectations:
Conversations & Coffee is a monthly program and forum that:
- Currently is held the 3rd Wednesday morning of each month, 7:30 to 9 am; if a holiday is in close proximity to the 3rd Wednesday, the event will be held the 2nd Wednesday
- Serves the planned giving needs for members and potential members, including those who are fundraisers for nonprofit institutions, consultants, and professional legal and financial advisors
- Hosts events that address a wide variety of planned giving topics, including developing, marketing, and administering charitable planned gifts
- Serves the needs of all colleagues in the planned giving profession regardless of expertise, represented organization/business or primary focus of responsibilities
- Promotes the sharing of information between members and represented organizations
- Encourages networking, group dialogue and announcements
- Promotes the sponsor(s) of the monthly program
- Responds to current legal and newsworthy topics, as well as the continuing education needs of members
- Serves the GCPGC's membership recruitment efforts and recognizes new members/guests
- Promotes the Leave A Legacy campaign and other GCPGC-sponsored/endorsed events and programs
Expectations and Duties of the Conversation & Coffee Planning Committee:
- Attend and facilitate monthly Conversations and Coffee, and
- 1. oversee 7 am set-up
- 2. secure refreshments for function
- 3. prepare agenda and introductions
- 4. oversee proper sponsor recognition and display signs
- 5. attain nametags for those who have RSVPed
- 6. recognize new members, guests and first-timers
- Meet at least quarterly as a committee to discuss the implementation of Conversations & Coffee program
- Choose topics for monthly program
- Secure sponsorships for program in coordination with GCPGC vice president
- Solicit input from membership for programming
- Solicit support from member organizations for new member recognition (tickets/passes/etc.)
- Contact and secure speakers/presenters for monthly topics
- Send thank-yous to presenters, speakers and hosting organization
- Set calendar of events and forward to GCPGC president for posting on GCPGC website
- Set calendar of events and forward to Association Connection for egcpgc email
- Utilize feedback from members for future topics and presenters
- Report monthly to GCPGC Board on committee and program activity
- Recruit additional participation on committee from GCPGC membership
The mission of the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council is to increase the quantity & quality of planned giving in our community by providing a forum for education, training, & networking among various professional disciplines involved in gift planning, in accordance with The Model Standards of Practice for Charitable Gift Planners.
